The department offers graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Computer Engineering.
In practice, this division is somewhat artificial as the student body has eclectic interests and goals. Recognizing this, the faculty has developed a unified structure of graduate education which is simultaneously rigorous and flexible, so that individual interests can flourish.
All courses, regardless of major, have been divided into five "Areas of Concentration". These areas are Electronics and Photonics, Systems and Signals, Computer Systems, Software and Knowledge Engineering, and Theory of Computing.
Students work with their advisors to craft a program of study that combines didactic education with research in a manner that meets their individual goals.
Please see the attached links for specific requirements for the various programs of study in the department.
